Canadian Vietnam eVisa Pre-Submit Checklist
Free one-page checklist for Canadian passport holders: why an eTA does not apply, name match, ports and DIY timing before you pay on evisa.gov.vn. InTimeVisa is a private agent — not the Vietnamese government. Official portal: evisa.gov.vn.
- A Canadian eTA is for entering Canada — it is not a Vietnam visa; you need a Vietnam eVisa for mainland travel
- Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival, undamaged, with at least one blank page
- Full name on the form matches the passport bio page exactly — including every given name
- Portrait photo meets evisa.gov.vn rules; passport bio-page scan is sharp and uncropped
- Entry and exit ports match your actual flights or border crossing — the eVisa works only at selected ports
- Allow 3–5 working days for DIY processing on evisa.gov.vn (Vietnamese weekends/holidays do not count)
- Government fee is US$25 single-entry or US$50 multiple-entry — non-refundable once paid
- Relatives of Vietnamese citizens: ask the Embassy of Vietnam in Ottawa whether a visa exemption certificate suits your trip better
- Only evisa.gov.vn is the official portal — the Embassy of Vietnam in Canada warns about look-alike visa websites
Updated Oct 14, 2026. Government fees are non-refundable once lodged.
