Vietnam eVisa over public holidays (2026–2027): dates and last order times
Vietnam's eVisa clock runs on Vietnamese working days, so a public holiday adds days to any plan. The next ones are Tuesday 24 November 2026 (Vietnamese Culture Day, a new day off), Friday 1 January 2027 and the Tết break from Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 February 2027. Below: the official dates and their sources, how each break moves the government's three-working-day target and our own tiers, and the last moment to order before each break.

Vietnamese public holidays that pause eVisa processing (2026–2027)
These are the days off for Vietnam's civil service, which is the schedule that matters for an eVisa: decisions come from the Immigration Department (Cục Quản lý xuất nhập cảnh). The Government Office approved one day off for Vietnamese Culture Day 2026, seven days for Tết 2027 and four for National Day 2027 on 2 October 2026. (Government Office letter 10065/VPCP-KGVX, 02/10/2026) The Ministry of Home Affairs then set the Tết break at Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 February 2027 and the National Day break at Thursday 2 to Sunday 5 September 2027. (Ministry of Home Affairs notice 11483/TB-BNV, 09/10/2026)
New Year's Day, Hung Kings' Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, Friday 16 April in 2027), 30 April and 1 May are fixed by the Labour Code, and a holiday that falls on a weekend moves to the next working day. (Labour Code 45/2019/QH14, Art. 111–112) The Ministry can still announce a working-day swap around 1 January or 30 April – 1 May 2027; if it does, the table below and our order-time calculator change with it.
| Dates | Holiday | Days off |
|---|---|---|
| Tue 24 Nov 2026 | Vietnamese Culture Day | 1 |
| Fri 1 Jan 2027 | New Year's Day | 1, then the weekend |
| Thu 4 – Wed 10 Feb 2027 | Tết (Lunar New Year) | 7: five Tết days plus two in lieu of the weekend |
| Fri 16 Apr 2027 | Hung Kings' Commemoration Day | 1, then the weekend |
| Fri 30 Apr – Mon 3 May 2027 | Reunification Day and International Workers' Day | 30 Apr, the weekend, and Mon 3 May in lieu of 1 May (a Saturday) |
| Thu 2 – Sun 5 Sep 2027 | National Day | 4: 2 and 3 September plus the weekend |
Does the eVisa clock stop on public holidays?
Yes. The legal target is up to 3 working days for a complete, paid application, and weekends and public holidays are not working days. (51/2019/QH14) An application filed on evisa.gov.vn on the evening of Wednesday 3 February 2027 has its first working day on Thursday 11 February.
The letter approving the breaks also tells agencies to keep duty staff so public services continue. (10065/VPCP-KGVX, point 4) That is not a promise of normal eVisa turnaround, so plan as if nothing moves on those days.
Last order times with InTimeVisa before each break
InTimeVisa lodges and delivers on Vietnamese working days only. The cut-offs are for the 1-working-day and 2-working-day tiers and for the 2–4 hour tier, with delivery by . An order placed after the last cut-off before a break, or during it, is handled from the first working day after it. A 2-working-day order placed by on the last day before a break is delivered on that first working day too.
These are our service windows, not a government promise: the issuing authority decides the outcome and the final timing. The “If you order now” panel on our urgent eVisa page uses the same holiday list, so the delivery time it shows already skips these days.
| Break | Last same-day order | First delivery after the break |
|---|---|---|
| Culture Day, Tue 24 Nov 2026 | Mon 23 Nov: 2–4 hours by 14:30, 1 working day by 09:15 → by 18:00 | Wed 25 Nov, by 18:00 |
| New Year, Fri 1 Jan 2027 | Thu 31 Dec 2026, same cut-offs | Mon 4 Jan, by 18:00 |
| Tết, Thu 4 – Wed 10 Feb 2027 | Wed 3 Feb, same cut-offs | Thu 11 Feb, by 18:00 |
| Hung Kings, Fri 16 Apr 2027 | Thu 15 Apr, same cut-offs | Mon 19 Apr, by 18:00 |
| 30 Apr – 3 May 2027 | Thu 29 Apr, same cut-offs | Tue 4 May, by 18:00 |
| National Day, Thu 2 – Sun 5 Sep 2027 | Wed 1 Sep, same cut-offs | Mon 6 Sep, by 18:00 |
Tết 2027: plan around 4–10 February
Tết is the long one. With the civil service off from Thursday 4 to Wednesday 10 February 2027, the last working day before the break is Wednesday 3 February and the first one after it is Thursday 11 February.
If you land in Vietnam between 4 and 11 February and need an eVisa, have it approved before the break. On the official portal that means applying in January and leaving room beyond the three-working-day target. With InTimeVisa, the last same-day order is on Wednesday 3 February for the 2–4 hour tier, or that morning for 1 working day.
What the holidays do not change
A short list of what stays the same over a break:
- An eVisa is valid between the dates printed on it; a holiday does not extend it
- Weekends still count as non-working days around every break
- Holiday dates for later years go on this page only once they are officially published
Frequently asked questions
Is Vietnamese Culture Day (24 November 2026) a day off for eVisa processing?
Yes. The Government approved one day off for the civil service for Vietnamese Culture Day 2026, Tuesday 24 November. (10065/VPCP-KGVX) We do not lodge or deliver that day; orders roll to Wednesday 25 November.
When is the last day to get a Vietnam eVisa before Tết 2027?
The civil service is off from 4 to 10 February 2027, so the last working day is Wednesday 3 February. (11483/TB-BNV) With InTimeVisa, order the 2–4 hour tier by or the 1-working-day tier by that day for delivery by . Later orders are handled from Thursday 11 February.
My eVisa still says “In Processing” the day before a holiday. Can it be expedited?
Only inside the working day. Send it through our existing-application request before the last cut-off ( for 1 working day, for 2–4 hours) and we quote the realistic timing. Once the break starts, the file waits for the first working day after it.
Does the eVisa's validity pause over Tết?
No. An eVisa is valid between the dates printed on it, and public holidays do not extend it.
Flying close to a holiday? Tell us your flight date and port of entry. We count the working days left before you pay, and if the timing works we prepare and lodge the file the same day.
