US Vietnam eVisa Pre-Submit Checklist

American traveler checking application preparation with a laptop and blank notebook

Free one-page checklist for US passport holders: middle names, entry ports, photo rules, DIY timing, and the separate air pre-arrival declaration before you pay on evisa.gov.vn. InTimeVisa is a private agent — not the Vietnamese government. Official portal: evisa.gov.vn.

  1. Passport valid at least 6 months beyond arrival, undamaged, with at least one blank page
  2. Full name on the form matches the passport bio page exactly — include middle names
  3. Portrait photo meets evisa.gov.vn rules (recent, plain background, no glasses)
  4. Passport bio-page scan is sharp, uncropped and readable
  5. Entry date is realistic and within passport validity
  6. Entry and exit ports match your actual flights or border crossing — the eVisa works only at selected ports
  7. Allow 3–5 working days for DIY processing on evisa.gov.vn (Vietnamese weekends/holidays do not count)
  8. Government fee is US$25 single-entry or US$50 multiple-entry — non-refundable once paid
  9. Only evisa.gov.vn is the official portal — avoid look-alike sites charging bundled prices
  10. After the eVisa is issued and your flight is within three days: complete the separate air pre-arrival declaration on the official Immigration portal (not a look-alike site) — confirm current instructions on travel.state.gov

Updated Aug 30, 2026. Government fees are non-refundable once lodged.
